Gagosian Gallery, Beverly Hills CA, Nov 17 2007
http://www.gagosian.com/
The Gagosian Gallery was actually one of my least favorite installations. Although artist Tracey Emin's work was trying to attemp to promote high art and popular media. The work she displays throughout drawings, sculpture, video, photography, painting, and needlework was not all that great. Because it was Beverly Hills I was expecting to see some amazing art, but I was really dissapointed. The art seemed very bland and conceptually it did not seem to evoke any type of interest.

Anthony Pearson Studio Gallery

Vistiting Anthony Pearsons studio was one of the more knowledgable experiences within the class. What was so amazing about it was that as an art student I got to see how the process of art is made rather then just seeing it put in an installation. What I really admired about Pearson was the ability he has to share his own experiences and how one might experience the same sort of hardships within their own careers.

Red Cat- Barry McGee

McGee is recognized as one of the most influential sub-cultural artists who combines not only art from West Coast surfers, graffiti artists, and skaters but uses his art as a vital method of communication and this assured a grand, diverse audience. McGee describes the urban life as a pessimistic view of frustrations, over stimulations, keeping a level head in a continual notion of advertising, and addictions.McGee influences my own abilities in how to find and use the world around to gain accessto great inspirations toward creating art pieces.

'The Jackal"
-Dani Tull
I love Tull's piece because it shows a lot the humor
and symbolism. For me the piece represents man as misguided, which of course is not always true. The man in the picture looks as though he has this jackal inside of him, but really its already become a part of who he is. I love the idea of combining reality with an emotion and being able to captivate it as one big idea.
