Out of all the art pieces that I saw at the many galleries, these particular pieces were some of the most unique. Besides looking almost real, they provided interesting contrasts within them. Each piece consisted of a certain glass cup and a different object. Some of those objects next to the different glasses were a bottle of pills, lipstick, a piggy bank, a pear, an orange, and a lighter, just to name a few. Although these objects were relatively simple, I felt they provided a very analytic approach to one another. A person could have been easily been fascinated with the contrast of the different shapes of the objects compared to the different shapes of the glass. I myself however, came up with a concept that all these pieces, with their objects and glass, represented a certain lifestyle. For example, the piggy bank and the champagne glass represent money which both objects can insinuate.
We are a group of Art students from the University of California Riverside who are attending a series of Art Galleries in several parts of Southern California. We have decided to use Blogger.com to post the pictures we take, and record our thoughts and opinions about the work we visit. You can find our critiques and thoughts on the work in the "comments" field, which appears below the pictures of the art.
