The show featured at the Orange County Museum of Art was all about modern design. I’m a big fan of modern design, and it was really great to see how it all began. I’m interested in product design, therefore I really enjoyed the experimental but functional Eames chairs. I didn’t think much of the abstract paintings of various shapes and colors. While I understand the intent of creating an image that consists only of shapes and colors in order to create a specific mood or feeling, it didn’t do it for me. The photography from modern design was very inspirational. Even though coming from the 1950’s, modern design still stands as a model for contemporary design today.

California art according to the person who explain to us is a more calm and cheerful comparing to the artworks done at other places because of the weather.
I think the person who was explaining to us did a wonderful job on trying to get us relate to time around 1950s to today. arts and sculptures back then were related to ipod today, sleek, simple, user friendly, easy to get.
It was a really wonderful experience at Orange County Museum of Art, I will definitely go back and I recommend this place to everyone.
